Hirataya is a 120-year-old traditional Japanese guesthouse located in the old town of Nio-cho, Mitoyo City, in the western part of Kagawa Prefecture.
As a rice shop that has been in business for 11 generations, we have witnessed the transition of five eras: Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa.
This Hirataya, which had been vacant, was renovated and opened in 2021 as Hirataya Meiji room, and a detached house built in the Showa period was renovated and newly opened in the spring of 2024 as Hirataya Showa room.
Why not try living a nostalgic yet new normal lifestyle in Nio Town, Mitoyo City, an ancient town in the Setouchi region?
